Digital Content Producer (Temporary, Part-Time) Full Description

Summary of Position:
The Digital Content Producer is responsible for supporting enrollment marketing efforts, primarily for the Division of Graduate, Online & Professional Studies, by creating compelling social media and digital content that highlights the online student experience. This role will focus on creating, capturing, editing and posting stories, photos and videos across a wide variety of social media channels including YouTube, Instagram TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, with the goal of elevating the online student voices and strengthening digital engagement.

Reporting to the Manager of eMarketing, the Digital Content Producer will also collaborate with the Director of Social Media occasionally, attending meetings with other social media content providers at the  university and sharing or generating content which may be related to activities involving the Chancellor, Advancement or Admissions.

The position requires a highly creative, deadline-oriented individual with proven experience creating stories for social media including sourcing and producing visual content while working collaboratively with others. The position requires approximately 18 hours per week which can be completed through a mix of on- and off-site work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Produce short form video content, student stories, and social media posts that reflect the experience, milestones and successes of online students. This includes the capture and editing of video and photo content, as well as interviewing students, staff and faculty. Monitor engagement metrics and contribute insights to help refine content strategies.
  • Event photography and/or videography including commencement, ASL Honors event and sourcing material from online students who participate in University study abroad opportunities
  • Maintaining university-wide graphic, brand and messaging standards.
  • Collaborate as needed with the Director of Social Media and other social media contributors at the University to share content and creative assets.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Position Details:
  • Employment period: 6-12 month contract
  • This is a non-benefitted, part-time position, max hours 18 per week.
  • Hourly Pay Range: $25-27 per week, with experience.
  • Schedule: Flexible. Project based. Work can be completed on-site or off-site as needed. May be required to work in-office 1 - 2 days a week, and/or attend on -campus meetings as needed. 
  • This position may require travel between campuses for meetings and occasional attendance at events, including some evening and weekend work.
  • GPS Operations Hours: 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Bachelor's degree in new media, multimedia, communications or related field
  • At least 1-2 years of experience producing digital content including writing and creating stories and videos
  • Demonstrated experience with relevant software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Canva, and CapCut
  • Fluency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A passion for storytelling, innovation and using new technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and timelines
  • Ability to manage collegial relationships without sacrificing the integrity or quality of the final product
  • Experience handling shifting priorities and deadline
  • Experience in higher education a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of digital marketing
  • Photography and videography skills
