POSITION SPECIFICS
The Penn State College of Engineering is seeking a Digital Engagement Strategist to support the development and execution of digital marketing and communications initiatives that advance and promote the strategic goals, programs, services, and people of the college.
In this hybrid role, the Digital Engagement Strategist will work with a team to contribute to the voice of the College of Engineering across digital platforms, turning complex engineering topics into compelling stories that resonate with students, alumni, faculty, and industry partners.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Create, edit, and amplify content for social media posts and newsletters
- Produce high-quality content, including short-form video, photography, and copy, that captures the engineering experience at Penn State
- Edit and proofread communications for accuracy, clarity, accessibility, and alignment with AP style and University standards
- Monitor social media accounts, amplify content that highlights the College of Engineering, and reply to messages/comments
- Balance daily posting with long-term campaign planning
- Ensure compliance with accessibility requirements and branding guidelines
- Research and translate complex subject matter into accessible, engaging content for various audiences
- Attend campus events/activities to gather content for the college's social media accounts and departmental newsletters
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the college and University to broaden our content's reach
- Collaborate with fellow marketing and communications team members to identify communication needs, target audiences, and key messaging
- Assist in developing campaign timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics
- Research and implement emerging digital trends
- Track and analyze performance metrics for the college's social media accounts and newsletters
- Provide insights and recommendations based on analytics to improve campaign performance and audience engagement
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred competencies:
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook
- Proficiency in video editing for social media
- Proficiency in marketing strategy, content creation, social media management, and public relations
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Experience with analytics tools, accessibility standards, and digital advertising
- Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Express, or similar creative applications for producing visual and digital marketing materials

SALARY & BENEFITS The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
