Posting Summary
Play a key role in shaping and executing strategic marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing the University of Vermont’s presence with prospective graduate and undergraduate students. In close collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Content Producers, plan and execute digital advertising efforts, manage marketing operations, oversee inquiry partner relationships, and analyze impact to enhance graduate and undergraduate recruitment outcomes.

Lead Paid Advertising Efforts:
Plan and execute targeted graduate and undergraduate marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Enrollment Marketing Director. Manage, monitor, and analyze paid advertising efforts to ensure alignment with budget and performance goals. Serve as the primary media buyer for UVM across platforms such as Google Ads, YouTube, Meta, LinkedIn, and SnapChat, as well as overseeing agency-managed advertising. Collaborate with Content Producers to determine advertising content needs and provide specifications for asset development.

Manage Marketing Operations:
Oversee planning and execution of complex marketing campaigns and projects. Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and coordinate with external agencies, freelancers, and internal partners across the Division of Enrollment Management, Strategic Communications, and UVM colleges/units. Manage marketing and advertising budgets in collaboration with the Directors of Enrollment Management Marketing and Enrollment Management Administration.

Oversee Inquiry Partner Relationships:
Serve as the primary liaison for inquiry partners, ensuring content accuracy and conducting annual performance reviews. Regularly update UVM marketing content in collaboration with Content Producers. Meet with inquiry partner vendors to assess platform enhancements and identify new opportunities to strengthen inquiry generation. Ensure seamless integration of inquiry data into the Slate/CRM platform and troubleshoot data delivery issues in coordination with Slate Program Managers.

Analyze Enrollment Impact:
Lead digital analytics for Enrollment Management Marketing initiatives. Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Management to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement plans. Partner with the Slate Program Manager to report on enrollment metrics and implement tracking solutions (e.g., tags, pixels) in collaboration with the Strategic Communications web team. Analyze marketing performance data and provide recommendations to optimize campaigns.

Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure marketing meets or exceeds comparable market standards. Stay current and maintain expertise by attending appropriate seminars, presentations, conferences, workshops, lectures, and training sessions—both on campus and externally hosted. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields and 3+ years’ related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated success purchasing and analyzing paid advertising, especially in digital platforms including Google Ads, YouTube, Meta, SnapChat, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with creative and digital marketing agencies and in-house partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member and adhere to established project deadlines. Has experience managing complex projects with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of the current marketing landscape including advertising, social media, and web.

  • Strong understanding of higher education
  • Advertising or marketing agency working experience.
  • Working knowledge of Slate, Salesforce, Hubspot, Wrike, Drupal 10, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office are desirable.
