Director, Academic & IT Strategic Alignment Full Description

Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice Provost for AI and Technology in Education, the Director of Academic & IT Strategic Alignment will lead the Business Relationship Management (BRM) function with NYU schools, and enhance the alignment of IT delivery with the strategic goals of the Provost’s office and NYU leadership. Identify strategic priorities and develop roadmaps and initiatives to meet those needs. Work to support communication and collaboration between NYU IT and schools and units. Act as a key liaison between Provost’s office, central NYU IT and unit and school specific IT teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration. The Director's success will have a direct impact on the university's ability to achieve its academic mission.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a relevant field

Required Experience:
7+ years experience in relationship management, account management, or relevant leadership roles. Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders. Experience leading and managing a team, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative environment. Demonstrable experience in portfolio management and strategic planning within a large organization.

Preferred Experience:
7+ years Experience working in a higher education or similarly complex, decentralized environment is a plus.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team to achieve strategic goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language. Strong capability for public speaking and formal presentations in front of large audiences and/or high level executives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and challenges and develop effective solutions. Skill in negotiating priorities and resources to ensure alignment with business needs. The ability to think quickly on your feet, pivot, adapt, and influence.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
BRM certification (e.g., BRMP, CBRM) is desirable. Those without these certifications will be supported in seeking them in the job.
Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $135,000.00 to USD $175,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
