Director, Administration - Center for Data Science Full Description

Position Summary:

The Director, Administration - Center for Data Science directs fiscal, academic, student affairs, and administrative planning and operations for the Department, working closely with the Chair to develop strategies that advance short- and long-term goals. The incumbent oversees academic programs, student and academic events, curriculum development, and faculty services while managing budgets, expenses, and special projects. The incumbent ensures effective business operations and delivery of administrative services, supervises staff, and advises leadership on recruitment, staffing, and professional development to maintain the Center for Data Science’s competitive advantage and achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs

Required Experience:
10+ years increasingly responsible professional level experience in program development including managing operations, budget administration and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience managing an academic department at a large college or university.

Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to individuals at all levels. Ability to generate creative ideas. Ability to work independently and also in teams. Ability to act in a professional and confidential manner with all levels of employees and outside groups and effectively respond to simultaneous requests and projects. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population within a multicultural environment. Ability to develop, implement, and communicate policies and procedures to diverse population. Working knowledge of standard office software.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $125,000.00 to USD $155,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
