Position Summary | Assumes responsibilities as a part of the Barney School of Business senior leadership team for all day-to-day, non-academic activities of the College, including but not limited to, finance, operations, staff management, and data collection. Responsibilities include advising the Dean and participating in planning the College’s short and long-range strategic goals and initiatives, developing budgets, monitoring budget allocations, and managing resources. All duties will be performed in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties is instrumental to the education of the University’s students.
Hiring Range | The budgeted salary for this position is $66,727 to $72,000, depending upon experience
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities | Finance Develops, plans and oversees collegiate budgets to ensure operational and fiscal controls and meet collegiate and institutional priorities and goals. Prepares short and long-term budgetary projections, performing complex budgetary and/or resources analysis, projections as well as financial modeling to inform decisions and support resource allocation to meet strategic goals of the College. Identifies fiscal and/or operational discrepancies, proposing and/or implementing resolution(s) as necessary and/or appropriate. In consultation with department chairs, develops annual request for adjunct and part-time faculty for Dean’s review/approval and monitors part-time and adjunct contracts to ensure fiscal responsibility. Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with key institutional stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Provost’s Office, Financial Accounting Services, the Budget Office, and the Office of Sponsored Programs regarding collegiate financial and budgetary planning, compliance and implementation efforts.
Operations
Directs the day-to-day, non-academic operational activities of the Barney School of Business; promotes the efficient and effective functioning of the College and makes recommendations to evaluate and improve operations. Oversee college spaces, assists with and/or leads in operational planning for college events, maintains inventory of computers and other business equipment, coordinates procurement processes as well as contracts that impact College’s budget; implements operational change(s) designed to realize efficiencies and business process improvements. Serves as College’s primary liaison to the Office of Human Resources Development on collegiate recruitment, employment and retention efforts of staff to align with institutional policies, procedures and precedence. Actively supports collegiate faculty and staff in the development of grants, collaborating with the PI and Office of Sponsored Programs to administer funds in compliance with applicable college, university and external funder policies, terms and applicable guidelines. Manages allocation of funds for internal grants and awards.
Reporting
Generates and analyzes budget reports and financial analyses that include account activity as well as available balances in each fund. Assists with the College’s accreditation and program review process, overseeing the creation and maintenance of key operational and/or fiscal data used for compliance purposes. Responsible for timely completion of the Annual Business School Questionnaire and other AACSB reporting and surveys. Assists faculty with use of Faculty Success (or similar program) for all College programs, faculty and adjuncts Coordinates survey, ranking, profile, and other information requests and reports. Manages administration and reporting of student course evaluations. Maintains AACSB accreditation and oversees coordination of other activities pertaining to continuous improvement reviews. Maintains currency on AACSB accreditation standards. Manages faculty databases such as Digital Measures. Reviews and reports on faculty qualification and sufficiency analysis and reporting. Compiles and reports on innovation, engagement, and impact vis-à-vis Barney School strategic plan goals and other key initiatives.
Committee representationAttend Academic Affairs, Finance, and Administration Ad Hoc committees, as assigned.
Performs other, related duties as assigned to support the overall mission and goals of the School and University.
