About the Role:
Wiley is going through a period of significant change as we anticipate and adapt to meet the shifting needs of our customers and possibilities enabled by technology and innovation. With new products and services driving our global expansion, it is a pivotal moment for you to join Wiley’s Enterprise Strategy Team. The Enterprise Strategy Team is doing the research, analysis, and cross-functional engagement required to drive the growth agenda that will define the future of the organization.
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Strategy, this role will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organization to develop insights and strategic hypotheses that will help shape our future.
How you will make an impact:
- Cultivate Internal Thought Leadership
- Maintain a deep understanding of target markets, including emerging client trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging trends
- Support high-impact strategy projects for the CEO and/or Executive Leadership team members
- Generate and report on quantitative analytics and qualitative insights on how to improve the business
- Develop and Track Wiley’s Strategic Plans
- Contribute to the annual strategic planning process and multi-year strategic roadmap
- Monitor progress against the strategic plan and prepare regular updates for the Board of Director and Executive Leadership Team briefings
- Bring strategic insights and rigor into business development and M&A efforts, working in close collaboration with the Strategic Business Development, Corporate Development and Financial Planning and Analysis team
- Lead and Execute Cross-Functional Initiatives
- Scope, plan and oversee strategic initiatives (for example, collaborating with internal teams to define go-to-market strategies for specific line of business, evaluating current pricing models and providing recommendations etc.)
- Ensure cross-departmental communication and alignment, proactively mitigating risks and resolving roadblocks to drive successful outcomes
What we look for:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience with a background in strategy consulting or in-house strategy; experience in research publishing or adjacent industries preferred
- Ability to scope complex problems and develop actionable recommendations
- Have superb verbal and written communication skills along with the confidence and credibility to share perspectives and influence key decisions
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with a track record of turning data into meaningful narratives
- Experience with a variety of research tools and methodologies, with a proven ability to direct, expand, and drive sell-through of research capabilities
- Are highly organized and able to learn quickly
- Are excellent relationship builders
- Previous exposure to digital and AI transformation strategies
Salary Range:159,300 USD to 233,567 USD
