Job Description
Job Profile Summary
The Director of Credential Evaluation is responsible for the accurate evaluation and transfer of prior educational attainment for students at the university. The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and continuously improving credential evaluation processes, practice standards, playbooks, and metrics. The Director collaborates with Enrollment Leadership, Academic Leadership, Compliance, EdTech, and other Student Lifecycle Services to implement initiatives, monitor metrics, forecast workforce needs, and improve efficiency to meet student outcome goals. This position requires extensive knowledge of academic procedures, records management, related government regulations, computer-based systems development, and team leadership.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
  • Creates vision, strategy, and goals, acting as a champion to achieve a culture aligned to the university’s Leadership Principles and Cultural Beliefs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and integrity of student academic records, including processing of incoming credentials, evaluation of incoming credentials, verification of degree and course completion, and maintaining Credential Partnerships
  • Drives innovation to improve the student experience through system efficiencies and scalability
  • Partners with executive leadership to launch strategic initiatives and deploy resources
  • Assists executive leadership in preparing the Annual Enrollment Operating Plan, Quarterly Business Reviews, and represents outcomes in Weekly/Monthly Business reviews.
  • Identifies and eliminates bottlenecks, opportunities, and inefficiencies using data and analysis to improve efficiency and staff/student experience.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Develop a team culture that assists the broader Enrollment team in expanding access and achieving established goals and objectives.
  • Implementation of the credential policies and practices of the University.
  • Maintenance of the content for the Student Handbook and other compendia of academic policies.
  • Strategize with other Directors and Senior Managers to improve operational effectiveness and a seamless student experience.
  • Consistently utilizes Salesforce, Banner, document management, and knowledge sites to manage all aspects of external and internal credential processes effectively.
  • Effectively lead a team of managers and senior managers including, but not limited to, Credential Evaluation Operations, Credential Evaluation, Credential Processing, and Credential Articulation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education           
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience
  • 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience with recruitment strategies with marketing, partnerships, enrollment goals with impacts on multi-year financial planning.
  • Experience leading enrollment initiatives and teams and strategic initiatives in an educational setting.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, with a focus on metrics and SLAs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior-level leadership experience managing a variety of services within a complex environment
  • In-depth experience in organizational leadership includes the ability to coach staff, manage priorities, develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage department budgets.
  • Administrative experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce), Reporting Systems (Tableau, Power BI), and Student Information Systems (Banner).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business, organizational management, public policy, or higher education
  • Experience utilizing large language models, machine learning, and OCR tools
  • Five years of experience in higher-education academic records management, regulatory compliance, and student information systems.
