Digital Accessibility & User Experience Director
Location: NYC (In-office / Hybrid)

Role:
The Director (Digital Accessibility & User Experience)’s role is to serve as a client-facing specialist, engaging with CIOs, compliance leaders, procurement and legal teams, and product owners. The role requires to provide advisory services on digital accessibility risk, standards, governance, and roadmap strategy for learning products and platforms.

Magic’s clients include Education and Workforce learning companies, publishers, edtech companies, Educational and Training certification Institutions catering from Kindergarten to Adult Learners.

The role requires the Director to:
  • Externally -Help client organizations with risks review on compliance, define digital accessibility and user experience strategy and help with design of operational plans (gap identification, risks measurement, roadmaps, resourcing, governance, measurement). This would manifest in providing advisory/consulting services, with billable hours when engaging with clients.
  • Internally -Support Sales in winning new business & collaborate with delivery teams for client success.
  • Industry Presence – Represent Magic in industry events,Industry consortiums  and develop and deliver thought leadership that is relevant in the digital learning sector and innovate to create market differentiation.

Experience:
  • Deep understanding of digital accessibility standards, guidelines and compliance requirements in the education and learning business.Certification ICAAP. Strong working knowledge of accessibility program components (audits, remediation, validation, governance, sustainment) and practical application of WCAG. Ability to connect the industry trends, compliance requirements and risks.
  • Experience in guiding, advising and participation in the area of User Experience for learning products and platforms.
  • Ability to capture client requirements, respond to clients requirements with a consulting / solution approach, make presentations, write proposals, and pitch.
  • Hands-on experience  with digital tools, AI, technologies, project/task management tools, CRM.
  • Understanding of Consulting and Outsourcing business, Operational understanding of contracting, Project management, Budgeting, and Billing for advisory and consulting services.
  • Relationship building with clients, experience of working and collaborating with senior CXO level leadership.
  • Rolodex in the Education Sector.
