We are seeking an experienced Director, Employee Relations and Policy Management to play a key role in promoting a positive and legally compliant work environment at Amplify.  This position will manage and support employee relations initiatives, conduct internal investigations, develop and implement HR policies and procedures, and work closely with the Legal team to ensure adherence to the applicable employment laws and regulations.  The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a keen understanding of employment law compliance, and the ability to think practically, strategically, and empathetically.  

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and proposing solutions that align with company policies and legal requirements and driving consistent, compliant, and pragmatic outcomes.
    • Conduct thorough, impartial internal investigations into employee complaints, alleged misconduct, alleged policy violations, and other employee relations issues and disputes.
    • Partner with the Legal team to implement standardized operating procedures for handling employee relations matters, ensuring consistency and fairness.
    • Ensure that all employee relations matters are well-documented, handled in accordance with company policy, and conducted in compliance with federal, state, and local law.
    • Collaborate with HRBPs to foster a positive and professional work environment through effective communication, policy enforcement, and training.
    • Serve as an elevation point for HRBPs to address critical or high-risk employee relations matters.  
  • Policy Management
    • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as alignment with organizational goals and culture.
    • Develop change management programs to communicate policy changes effectively across the organization, providing training and support to ensure proper implementation.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of HR policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
    • Maintain an up-to-date employee handbook, manager guidance, coordinating with the Legal team on a regular cadence for reviewing and publishing updates.
  • Legal Compliance
    • Partner with the Legal team to assess employment law changes and implement necessary or advisable policy updates.
    • Provide support to the Legal team in conducting privileged audits and reviews.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in employee relations and policy management, or a related HR field.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience leading complex employee relations matters, including internal investigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, curiosity, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including the HRBPs and Legal team.  
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and independence, balanced with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail and a dedication to comprehensive, accurate documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • JD strongly preferred. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) a plus.
  • Priority given to those with experience working with a national company with employees located throughout the country.

The gross salary range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
