(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Provides leadership for the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-quality, technology-enhanced learning experiences across all modalities. Oversees instructional design operations, manages assigned staff, promotes quality and accessibility standards, and ensures alignment with organizational goals and priorities. Responsible for implementing instructional design strategy and operational priorities, while senior leadership provides broader strategic direction and oversight.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides leadership, supervision, and performance management for assigned instructional design staff
2. Oversees course design, development, and review efforts to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with institutional standards
3. Partners with faculty to support sustainable course design, faculty course review, and continuous improvement
4. Advances accessibility and student success through structured design practices and alignment with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and institutional standards
5. Leverages data and analytics such as uHoo or similar platform to inform course optimization and improve learning outcomes
6. Guides the use of instructional technologies and authoring tools, ensuring effective and scalable implementation
7. Develops and delivers professional development related to instructional design, digital tools, and emerging technologies
8. Ensures alignment with institutional priorities, including digital learning expansion, accessibility, and innovation
9. Collaborates with department academic colleges, and campus partners to support program and course-level initiatives
10. Contributes to process improvement, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality deliverables across the team
11. Fosters a culture of innovation, curiosity, and collaboration within the team and across the institution
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in a related field.
Required Experience
Eight (8) years of experience in instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field, including supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of industry standard tools (e.g., Articulate, Kaltura, Camtasia, etc.)
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Experience leading instructional design teams in higher education
Experience supporting faculty in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning
Experience with learning analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Experience in designing and delivering professional development
Proposed Salary

KNOWLEDGE
Strong knowledge of instructional design models, learning theories, and digital learning best practices
Experience with learning management systems and course development tools
SKILLS
Strong interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
