Role Summary
The Director, Learning Operations is responsible for leading the global operational infrastructure that enables the successful delivery, governance, administration, measurement, and continuous improvement of enterprise learning programs. This role ensures a consistent, scalable, and high-quality learning experience across all regions while driving operational excellence, process standardization, compliance, reporting, and learning technology effectiveness.
This role owns the operational backbone of learning execution working in close partnership with Regional Talent & Learning Advisors, the role oversees the end-to-end operational framework that supports learning operations worldwide. The role combines strategic leadership with operational and process rigor to ensure learning investments are efficiently executed and deliver measurable business impact. This can be a remote position in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Operations Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute the global Learning Operations strategy aligned with enterprise talent and capability priorities and strategies.
- Establish governance frameworks, standards, service levels, and operating procedures across learning operations.
- Drive standardization and simplification of learning delivery processes globally.
- Ensure consistent execution while enabling regional flexibility where required.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Program Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Oversee the tactical and operational execution of global learning, leadership development, commercial learning, and functional capability programs in collaboration with Learning Program Managers.
- Ensure successful deployment, administration, and completion of learning programs across regions in collaboration with Learning Program Managers.
- Drive operational performance through defined service levels, workflows, and accountability measures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline learning operations and reduce administrative burden while improving learner experiences.
- Lead issue resolution and escalation management for learning operations.
Learning Technology & Digital Experience
- Own operational effectiveness of learning technologies, including LMS and related learning platforms.
- Partner with HRIS, Digital Technology, and vendors to optimize learning system performance and user experience.
- Drive adoption of learning technologies and digital learning solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, system governance, and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Support future technology enhancements and digital transformation initiatives.
Reporting, Analytics & Insights
- Establish learning analytics and reporting capabilities that provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Develop dashboards and metrics to measure participation, completion, adoption, operational performance, and learning effectiveness.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve outcomes.
- Deliver regular operational reviews and executive reporting.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure global compliance training programs are administered effectively and on schedule.
- Maintain audit-ready processes and documentation.
- Monitor regulatory and policy requirements that impact learning administration.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and HR stakeholders to ensure adherence to enterprise standards.
Vendor & Budget Management
- Manage relationships with external learning vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
- Oversee operational budgets and expenditures related to learning administration and delivery.
- Drive vendor performance management and contract optimization.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a global Learning Operations team and associated specialists.
- Build organizational capability through coaching, development planning, and succession management.
- Foster a customer-focused, continuous improvement culture.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in learning operations, learning technologies, talent development, or HR operations.
- Experience leading global teams and complex operational environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in LMS administration, learning technologies, reporting, and process governance.
- Strong project and program management capabilities.
- Experience managing external vendors and budgets.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$195,000. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
