Job Description 
Reynolds Community College, one of the largest community colleges in Virginia, serves the Greater Richmond region through accessible, high-quality academic and workforce programs. With four campus sites, Reynolds supports approximately 13,000 credit students annually and provides workforce training to more than 7,400 individuals through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds Community College is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the development and implementation of the College’s marketing, communications, and public relations strategies. This position oversees advertising, brand management, publications, internal communications, digital presence, and media relations to build broad public awareness of the College’s mission, programs, and community impact across the greater Richmond metropolitan region.

Key Responsibilities

 Lead the creation, execution, and evaluation of college-wide marketing and communication strategies. Oversee advertising, brand identity, digital platforms, publications, and media relations. Manage large-scale marketing initiatives and campaigns from concept through completion. Direct staff and resources to support project execution and strategic goals. Oversee budgeting, procurement activities, and vendor negotiations. Ensure consistent, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
The selected candidate will be required to complete the Commonwealth’s Statement of Economic Interest and must successfully pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field. Knowledge of marketing, communications, advertising, and market research principles demonstrated through professional experience. Experience developing creative marketing strategies and implementing large-scale marketing or communication programs. Experience managing complex projects with multiple deliverables and deadlines. Supervisory or team-lead experience reflected in prior roles. Experience with fiscal management, including budgeting, procurement, and vendor coordination. Experience producing professional written communications (technical, journalistic, or business). Experience gathering and analyzing market or audience data to inform communication or marketing decisions. Experience collaborating with diverse teams or stakeholder groups. 

Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education or public-sector communications (helpful but not required).
Professional marketing and communications experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
