Job Summary:
Responsible for athletic communications and promotion of Bethel athletics and student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
Athletic Communications Leadership – 55%
- Oversee and provide leadership for the promotion and communications of Bethel University’s 18 sport programs.
- Manage game stories, statistics, game promotions, and programs.
- Supervise photography and website development, ensuring regular updates.
Video Streaming Services – 15%
- Manage video streaming services for home competitions.
Student Employee Oversight – 15%
- Oversee a team of student employees assisting with game statistics, stories, photography, and social media.
External Relations – 15%
- Serve as the liaison to various outside athletic organizations.
- Nominate Bethel athletes and coaches for local and national awards.
Required Skills:
- Must possess strong writing skills.
- Must possess strong editing skills.
- Working knowledge of commonly used social media sites.
- Working knowledge of sports statistics software’s.
- Working knowledge of InDesign and Adobe.
- Working knowledge of website management software’s and tools.
- Working knowledge of photography and videography.
- Must be a clear and efficient communicator.
- Working knowledge of best practices with branding concepts.
- Must be organized.
Experience:
Required Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in sports information
Education:
Requred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, sports management or a similar field.
Additional Information:
Travel: This position requires frequent local travel and some regional and national travel.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Expected Hours of Work:
Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Frequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position. Benefits:
