Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.  | PhD in a bioscience-related field. Record of obtained external funding for bioscience education and training research programs. Demonstrated experience leading externally funded bioscience workforce, education, and training program(s). Experience working in a university setting. Documented experience as a PI on funded bioscience education and training grants in the last five years. Ability to prepare correspondence that includes research writing, grant writing and reports. Demonstrated research skills to write surveys and reports. Evidence of time and project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Job Description  | The Translational Health Research Center (THRC) at Texas State University facilitates applied research and events through partnerships with TXST faculty, staff, and students, businesses, community members, nonprofits, and government organizations. THRC is currently seeking a new Director of Bioscience Education and Training Research Programs to oversee research collaborations and translational programs, including leadership and facilitation of bioscience education and training research programs. The ideal candidate will be able to:

Job Duties  | Lead innovative research and grant programs to address health and bioscience workforce needs in Texas; Represent THRC in multi-organizational research partnerships to engage, educate, and equip the health and bioscience workforce with research skills needed in the marketplace; develop and assess evidence-based credentialing programs, grant programs, workshops, conferences, research experiences, and other extracurricular and experiential activities in conjunction with health and bioscience employers in the region; collect, analyze and report on data from assessment of health and bioscience research programs; community-level data collection or reporting activities in line with the program goals. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholder groups to align THRC bioscience and health workforce research with market demands Lead ongoing strategic planning and assessment for bioscience education and training research. Develop, write, and submit funding proposals for bioscience workforce research Perform other duties as assigned.
