Job Summary  | The Director of Continuing Education position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to advance the mission of Continuing Education in alignment with the strategic priorities of Troy University. The position is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding professional, workforce, and lifelong learning opportunities. The Director oversees program development, budgeting, partnerships, marketing, and program delivery. The position is responsible for establishing strategic priorities, developing an effective organizational structure, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the department. The Director oversees all aspects of the department’s daily operations, including program development, budget management, evaluation, and administrative processes. The position leads efforts to design, enhance, and deliver continuing education courses and programs that are responsive to industry needs, market demands, and community interests, while maintaining high academic and professional standards. The position also encompasses pursuing and securing contracts, cultivating external partnerships, and fostering collaboration across all university colleges and departments. The Director manages systems and processes related to registration, payment, and customer service, with responsibility for evaluating and implementing technology solutions that improve efficiency and enhance the student experience. Working in coordination with key university offices, the Director ensures compliance with institutional policies and the effective administration of agreements, reporting, and contract initiatives. The Director is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising departmental staff and contracted subject matter experts in support of the department’s strategic objectives.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field. Minimum of five years of related university work experience in executive education, continuing education and/or professional development training. Demonstrated ability in program development, budgeting, partnership building, project coordination and/or program management Strong skills in organization, written and verbal communication, interpersonal relations, and presentation

Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree in a related field Experience in leadership and/or supervision
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?  | Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
