POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Curriculum & Academic Success is a member of the full-time faculty (rank commensurate with experience). The primary responsibility of the director is to ensure programmatic accreditation standards and state agency regulations are met, and to ensure that content delivery of both existing and new programs are of high quality and align with the Pedagogical design of active and effective learning. The incumbent will work closely with faculty, staff, and program leaders to ensure the curriculum is up to date and maintains the highest standards across the nursing professions. The incumbent will coordinate, develop, and supervises curricula to ensure that all meets regulatory and programmatic accreditation standards. The incumbent will serve as the liaison between the nursing department and South University’s Digital Resource Team. The incumbent will assist faculty and academic leaders in developing programs and support services to help students succeed when taking the NCLEX & Nurse Practitioner certification exams.

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:
1. Adheres to University policies as described in the Employee Handbook, the Faculty Supplement to the Employee Handbook, job description, or other separate guidelines.
2. Serves as liaison between faculty and Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Success.
3. Implements, in conjunction with the faculty, curricular changes/implementation for the Departments deemed necessary and in collaboration with other campuses of the University.
4. Assists with the development of curricular and policy revisions as requested by the College/School Dean, or Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
5. Ensures Department Chairs, Program Directors, and faculty are in compliance with South University’s academic policies and procedures, SACSCOC, programmatic accreditation standards and state agency regulations.
6. Supports curriculum development, mapping and ensures compliance with South University’s academic policies and procedures, SACSCOC, programmatic accreditation standards, and state agency regulations.
7. Supports the maintenance and implementation of the College’s Systematic Evaluation Plan.
8. Supports the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Success to ensure that the curriculum supports accreditation standards, the essentials of education as defined by the governing bodies and Board of Nursing standards.
9. Assists with the development of NCLEX pass rate strategies.
10. Supports the clinical team, Department Chairs, Program Directors, and Assistant Program Directors (including program assessment, strategic planning).
11. Serves the College and University on committees as requested by the College/School Dean.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Scholarship:
1. Engages in scholarly activities that contribute to the field of study and enhance the learning environment.
Faculty Development Activities:
1. Completes professional development and in-service activities each year as outlined in the faculty supplement.

REQUIREMENTS:
• A terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution with a concentration in the teaching discipline, preferred. Minimum of master’s in nursing.
• Curriculum development experience at both undergraduate and graduate programs, preferred
• Experience with systematic evaluation plans
• Experience with overall program assessment strategies as well as post-graduation assessments such as NCLEX and NP certification pass rates.
• At least 3-4 years teaching experience at a post-secondary education institution
• Active, valid, and unencumbered state nursing license or certification as applicable to the discipline. CNE preferred.
• Nurse practitioner license, preferred
• Membership in a professional association tied to area of instruction (preferred).
• Practical experience in the discipline of the program and knowledge of current best practices (in field). Experience in either prelicensure or post licensure program curriculum, both preferred.
• Evidence of management experience
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
