Job Summary  | The Director of Development is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals or businesses capable of giving at the $25,000+ level to the University. This position will manage a portfolio of prospective donors from all constituencies including alumni, friends and business partners of the University. This position will; identify, qualify, solicit, and steward prospective donors at the major donor level; assist with developing strategies designed to engage prospective donors in ways that will encourage their philanthropic investment in the University and its programs; develop strong relationships with all constituencies; work collaboratively with those engaged in annual giving, planned giving, and alumni engagement to secure the maximum gift from all assigned prospects/donors; assist with proposals, cultivation and solicitation materials; and represent the University when requested at development and alumni related functions.
The Director of Development is a vital part of the Office of Development and will work closely with assigned College Administrators including the Dean, AVC of Development & Alumni Engagement, the Alumni Director, and other Senior Administrators. This position will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Engagement.
Minimum Qualifications  | 1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. Five to seven years of experience in fundraising or related fields
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
4. Ability to interact with a wide variety of constituents
5. Excellent computer skills
