Posting Summary 
The Director of Admissions will provide management oversight and operational direction for the College of Medicine Office of Admissions. This role includes direct supervision of three admissions team members on behalf of the Associate Dean for Admissions. In collaboration with the Associate Dean, the Director will develop and implement strategies to recruit, select, and retain the most qualified medical students. They will establish practices and procedures to meet enrollment goals aligned with the College of Medicine’s strategic plan. As part of the annual recruitment program, the Director may travel to regional and distant sites to recruit applicants for the College of Medicine. The Director will ensure that admissions policies, procedures, and documentation comply with all university, federal, and state regulations as well as standards set by accrediting organizations. The successful candidate will oversee the screening process, which includes overseeing the processing of approximately 10,000 applications annually, monitoring and directing a quality assurance program for screeners.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 
Bachelor’s degree in higher education or related field and five to six years of related administrative experience at a university with direct student and faculty contact required. Effective organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills. High initiative and ability to anticipate next steps; demonstrated good judgment and ability to work independently. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications. Ability to interact with a wide range of client groups, including faculty, students, and members of the community. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and maintain productivity. High level of discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Ability to adapt to changing landscapes and situations.
Desirable Qualifications  | Master’s degree in higher education or related field. Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.
Anticipated Pay Range  | $68,000 - $75,000

Special Conditions  | External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
