A pioneer in K–12 education since 2000, Amplify is leading the way in next-generation curriculum Amplify is seeking a Director, Marketing Analytics and Systems to help our hardworking marketing team reach even greater heights. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing Operations and works closely with all teams within the marketing department.

The ideal candidate will be a B2B/demand generation leader who can create and implement a strategic plan for our analytics and systems. The roadmap they build will clearly define the department’s quantitative goals and KPIs, create accessible data models and visualizations, and align our tech stack with our strategy. They will be determined to make the Marketing team more efficient, more powerful, and more grounded in organized tools and accessible, accurate data.

The Director will also be a hands-on and experienced data analyst who is capable of investigating problems and implementing solutions in complex data models built via Tableau Prep and Tableau. They will be proficient in SQL and capable of transferring these data models from Tableau into code, and building high-quality analysis, visualizations, and dashboards.

Finally, the ideal candidate has experience with the key tools that the marketing team uses to excel at their jobs – Hubspot (our central demand gen tool), Mailchimp, Zapier, Zoom, Optinmonster, Youtube, our integration with Salesforce, and more. The director will work closely with an implementation expert on the Engineering team to audit the tools, create plans for improvements, and execute those plans. They will seek out feedback from digital marketers to improve the tools and create processes and training to maximize their effectiveness.

In this role, you will:
  • Build consensus on and measure goals and  KPIs like leads, ROI, conversion rates, website traffic and social media engagement
  • Maintain, upgrade and manage our marketing analytics capabilities, especially our attribution models. Our dashboards, visualizations and underlying data models are built via Tableau and Tableau Prep. You will be responsible for investigating problems and implementing solutions as well as migrating our data models using SQL.
  • Design, build, and maintain intuitive, alluring data visualizations that provide critical visibility for all levels to lead and operate effectively. Write accompanying concise and accurate documentation.
  • Quickly put together analyses and visualizations for use that answer key questions about our business, or can be used by others on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively identify inaccuracies in data. Determine and implement solutions to improve data quality. 
  • Collaborate with internal business partners, data scientists, and data engineers to identify precise data requirements, define and refine metrics and clarify technical requirements. Effectively communicate status, risks, open questions and blockers across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage our tech stack with the help of your implementation partner in Engineering, especially Hubspot, so that the right emails go to the right people, workflows function properly, leads can attend the webinars they sign up for and, in general, technology facilitates our best-in-class demand generation team. Ensure that issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate and onboard new technology. Establish usage rules, training, and integration with other parts of our tech stack.
  • Serve as the point person on Marketing’s side when it comes to sales-marketing alignment especially as it pertains to the handoff of leads from Marketing’s Hubspot to Sales’ Salesforce; ensure that leads meet the correct standards and that sales delivers, fast-reliable follow up.

Basic Qualifications of the Director, Marketing Analytics:
  • 8+ years of experience with B2B and/or demand generation marketing 
  • 3+ years of experience years of experience in a data science/analyst role
  • Extensive expertise using business intelligence and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker), including proficiency in SQL
  • 3+ years of experience managing a demand generation tech stack. You understand in and out the requirements to generate, nurture and pass a lead to sales, and have experience managing the technology to do so.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and related tooling, understanding of relational data models and metric creation
  • A drive to understand data and key performance metrics and their relevance to our business and product decisions
  • Ability to learn and adopt new tools and methods
  • Strong analytical background and experience driving self-directed projects
  • Experience in managing staff

Preferred Qualifications of the Director, Marketing Analytics:
  • G-Suite competence. Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides are going to be your key tools for communicating inside the company.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Python or R.
  • An orientation to service and ongoing learning
  • Passion for K-12 education

What we offer:

The gross salary range for this role is $130,000 - $140,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
