About the role
The Director of Sales, North America is a critical role for Learning Pool. The candidate will own new customer acquisition for North America and this requires a strong background in sales execution, pipeline generation, opportunity progression and people leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven playbook and have a people-first mindset to foster team development. Reporting into the VP Sales (based in London) the candidate will have a critical importance to building the culture and setting expectations of performance for the region. Its a superb opportunity to build and own significant growth in an organisation with excellent product market fit and a large TAM.

What you will be doing:
Roles and responsibilities include:
Revenue Leadership
- Own and drive revenue growth through net new sales.
- Build and maintain a predictable and scalable pipeline aligned to revenue targets.
- Accountability for clear pipeline funnel metrics, understanding how to build plans to create effective pipeline coverage.
- Ensure structured opportunity progression of MEDDPICC-derived sales methodologies (preferred).
- Operate proactively, positively and with energy, acting as a role model for success.
People Leadership & Development
- Drive clarity and accountability for the reps, with clarity of “what good looks like”.
- Creation of a culture where every employee can thrive, applying consistent coaching, development and accountability of performing to agreed expectations, allowing individuals to reach their potential.
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of remote individual contributors.
- Drive a high-performance culture, ensuring both high and low performers are effectively managed.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent, fostering career progression.
Pipeline & Deal Execution
- Establish and refine a repeatable, scalable sales process.
- Drive rigorous pipeline reviews and accurate forecasting.
- Run a clear operating rhythm, holding the team accountable to pipeline generation and opportunity progression
- Engage in strategic deal execution, coaching teams to close complex enterprise deals.
- Collaboration with our project management and implementation teams to ensure effective delivery of new client programs
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven track record: You will have extensive experience in enterprise sales leadership
- Industry-related experience: You will have HR Tech, Learning Tech, or related SaaS industry experience.
- Revenue growth expertise: You will have a demonstrated history of scaling and managing high-performing sales teams, achieving significant revenue growth in North America.
- Sales methodology proficiency: You will have a strong understanding and application of a MEDDPICC-derived sales methodology.
- Talent management: You will have a proven ability to hire, develop, and retain top sales talent, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
- Strategic leadership: You will have expertise in strategic forecasting, consistently achieving sales quotas, and implementing effective expansion strategies.
- People leadership: You will possess strong leadership capabilities in coaching, mentoring, and managing underperformance to drive team success.
- Data-driven approach: You will have the ability to conduct detailed pipeline and deal reviews, ensuring performance is consistently aligned with revenue goals.
- Enterprise sales execution: You will have experience in managing and closing large, complex enterprise deals with multiple stakeholders.
- Adaptability and agility: You will have experience leading teams in high-growth, dynamic environments, with a demonstrated ability to adapt processes and strategies to meet evolving market conditions.
