About the Role
The Director of Strategic Planning, Analytics & Learning is a critical leadership role that drives organizational performance, continuous improvement, and impact transparency. Reporting to the COO, this position leads the strategic planning process, oversees data governance and analytics, and ensures that insights are effectively used to inform decisions across the organization.

This leader will play a key role in building a data-informed culture, empowering staff to use evidence and learning to strengthen BranchED’s work and tell its story of impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Organizational Learning
  • Lead the multi-year strategic planning and annual organizational planning cycle in partnership with the COO.
  • Develop and maintain organization-wide performance measures, scorecards, and dashboards.
  • Facilitate quarterly and annual progress reviews, surfacing insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide regular updates and data reports to the Executive Team and Board.

Program Evaluation & Analytics
  • Design and oversee evaluation frameworks that measure both outputs and long-term outcomes across BranchED programs.
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Oversee data governance and ensure data integrity, access, and ethical practices.

Building a Culture of Data & Learning
  • Foster a culture of inquiry and reflection by strengthening data literacy and analytics capacity across teams.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, compelling narratives for internal and external audiences—including impact reports, dashboards, and funder communications.
  • Partner with the CEO and Marketing to communicate impact stories that elevate BranchED’s mission.

Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise and develop a team of data, evaluation, and learning professionals.
  • Build trust, provide feedback, and model collaborative leadership.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, contributing to cross-organizational alignment and decision-making.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Data Science, Public Policy, Educational Measurement, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, program evaluation, analytics, or performance management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Experience in the nonprofit, education, or social impact sector.
  • Strong understanding of research methods, evaluation design, and equity-focused data practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative and proactive leader who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment.
