The Director, Total Rewards is both a strategic and operational leader of Arizona College of Nursing’s total rewards, benefits and payroll programs. Reporting to the VP of HR, you will work closely with the HR team to implement total rewards and benefit strategies to drive attraction and retention of talent across The College. You will have excellent working knowledge of HRIS systems, and how these strategies can be adapted inside of those systems. Your keen attention to detail and process will be utilized to create HR data dashboards, and provide visibility and recommendations our business partners to enable data driven decision making.
 
The successful candidate will have 7+ years in Human Resources, Total Rewards or HR Operations with a focus on strategic creation of job architecture and compensation structure, and benefits strategy aligned to organizational strategies. This person will also possess 3+ years of leadership within one or more of those disciplines. This person possesses excellent communication skills, stakeholder management and the ability to build and lead high performing teams.
 
Strategic Business Partnership:
  • Serve as a champion for Arizona College of Nursing’s Total Rewards strategy ensuring alignment with values and business goals.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to enhance the understanding and alignment across the organization.
  • Build and inspire team through regular 1:1 team meetings, development, and learning opportunities.

Compensation:
  • Design comprehensive and competitive performance-based compensation program aligned to Arizona College of Nursing’s strategic goals.
  • Partner with Department Leaders and HR Business Partners to support strategic compensation initiatives, rewards programs, providing customized compensation analysis to align pay programs with evolving campus structures.
  • Advise and partner with HR Business Partners and Business Leadership on complex pay issues and pay equity, including the creation of pay ranges and pay bands.
  • Ensure all state and federal pay laws are followed and incorporated into job descriptions and job posting to ensure alignment and consistency as The College grows.
  • Partner with VP of Finance to plan and manage all compensation cycles including merit cycle, promotion, incentive payout and short-term incentive plans ensuring consistent, fair, and equitable practices in addition to timely execution across The College.

Payroll
  • Manage, lead and collaborate with payroll on compensation and/or benefit projects
  • Working knowledge of pay transparency, compliance and wage and hour laws
  • Thorough understanding of how structure and process have downstream impacts to payroll processing

Education and Experience:
  • 7+ years in Human Resources, Total Rewards or HR Operations with a focus on strategic creation of job architecture and compensation structure, benefits strategy and business partnerships
  • Comfortable with navigating organizational change
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines with a progressive background within HR Operations or Total Rewards
  • Experience working with a national decentralized organization
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (ICIMs + Paylocity) including implementation and optimization experience
  • Thorough understanding of pay practices and compliance regulations at the state and local level
