ETS is seeking a strategic and commercially focused Director, Product Marketing & Commercialization to lead the positioning, commercialization, and go-to-market strategy for our portfolio of assessment, credentialing, workforce, and candidate-facing solutions.

This role sits at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Business Development, Client Success, and Candidate Experience, ensuring ETS’ products and services are effectively positioned, launched, adopted, and expanded across both client and test taker audiences.

The Director will lead and develop a team of Product Marketing professionals, creating a high-performing function that serves as the bridge between product strategy, market opportunity, customer needs, and commercial success. The role will establish best practices, frameworks, and capabilities that enable ETS to effectively bring products and services to market while driving adoption, differentiation, and customer value.

A key focus of the role will be identifying opportunities to enhance the candidate journey while developing and commercializing ancillary products and services that create additional value for customers and test takers. This includes improving digital points of sale, optimizing conversion and engagement across the candidate lifecycle, and bringing new offerings to market that support ETS’ strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will bring deep experience from the assessment, credentialing, certification, licensure, workforce solutions, learning, or education technology sectors, with a proven track record of leading product marketing teams, launching products, developing commercialization strategies, and driving measurable business results across both B2B and B2C markets.

Responsibilities

Product Marketing Strategy

Develop and execute product marketing strategies that support PSI’s business objectives and market leadership position.
Create compelling value propositions, positioning frameworks, and messaging that clearly differentiate PSI’s solutions.
Conduct market analysis, customer research, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Act as the voice of the customer and market within the organization.
Partner with Product Management to align product strategy with customer needs, market opportunities, and commercial priorities.

Product Commercialization & Go-to-Market Leadership
Lead go-to-market strategy and execution for new products, services, features, and enhancements.
Develop launch plans, pricing recommendations, adoption strategies, and market activation programs.
Establish scalable commercialization frameworks and best practices across the business.
Drive alignment between Product, Marketing, Sales, and Client Success teams to ensure successful product adoption and market penetration.
Measure and optimize launch performance, adoption, and commercial outcomes.

Candidate Experience & Ancillary Products
Identify, develop, and commercialize ancillary products and services that enhance the candidate journey and overall assessment experience.
Partner with product and digital teams to improve points of sale, purchase journeys, onboarding experiences, and candidate engagement.
Evaluate opportunities for new candidate-facing offerings, including preparation tools, learning solutions, premium services, and AI-enabled support products.
Drive strategies that increase adoption, engagement, and revenue contribution from ancillary offerings.
Use customer insights and performance data to continuously improve the end-to-end candidate experience.

Sales Enablement & Commercial Support
Develop sales enablement tools, messaging, competitive intelligence, and customer-facing content that support revenue growth.
Partner with Business Development and Client Success teams to strengthen solution positioning and support strategic opportunities.
Ensure commercial teams are equipped to effectively communicate the value of PSI’s solutions across key market segments.
Support key client pursuits, market expansion initiatives, and strategic growth opportunities.

Market & Customer Insights
Lead market segmentation, customer insight, and voice-of-customer initiatives.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments across assessment, credentialing, workforce, learning, and education markets.
Use data-driven insights to inform product positioning, commercialization strategies, and investment priorities.
Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations for product and business leaders.

Team Leadership & Capability Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Marketing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Establish clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations aligned to business goals.
Build and scale product marketing capabilities, processes, and best practices across the organization.
Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to support individual and team growth.
Ensure the team is effectively aligned with Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Client Success priorities.
Champion a customer-centric and commercially focused mindset across the team.

Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Business Development, Client Success, Candidate Experience, Test Development, and Psychometric teams.
Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple functions.
Foster a culture of innovation, customer focus, and commercial excellence.
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor on market opportunities, product positioning, and commercialization priorities.

Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Education, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of product marketing, product commercialization, or related experience, including experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing product marketing teams.
  • Experience within assessment, credentialing, certification, licensure, workforce solutions, learning, education technology, or related industries.
  • Proven success bringing products and services to market and driving adoption and commercial performance.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and commercializing ancillary products, services, or new revenue-generating offerings.
  • Experience supporting both B2B customer journeys and B2C user experiences.
  • Strong understanding of product positioning, go-to-market strategy, customer insights, and digital commerce.
  • Experience building product marketing capabilities, frameworks, and operating models within a growing organization.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data and insights into action.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within testing, assessment, credentialing, certification, or licensure environments.
  • Experience optimizing candidate or customer experiences across digital channels.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled products, learning technologies, or assessment-adjacent services.
  • Experience working in highly regulated, high-stakes, or professional credentialing markets.
