Job Description | Financial Aid and Scholarships at Texas State University seeks an experienced manager and financial aid professional to lead the office’s scholarship team.
Job Duties
The Director will supervise the scholarship team to ensure excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, analyze data to facilitate the effective management and utilization of institutional funds, direct the scholarship review and selection processes, overseeing outreach and award assistance to academic departments to assure endowment compliance, and supervise quality control and compliance activities. In addition, this position is responsible for overseeing scholarship wraparound services for targeted student populations, providing proactive, high‑touch guidance and support to help students navigate scholarship, financial aid, and related university processes. This position will also be responsible for keeping abreast of all pertinent changes in scholarship and financial aid rules and making recommendations as necessary to maintain compliance with relevant regulatory changes. In addition, this position will be tasked with performing budget modeling to provide budget recommendations to facilitate the effective management and optimization of institutional funds as well as working with consultants to assist with testing and verifying aid leveraging modules and net price positioning analysis. This position will support university enrollment and retention goals through the awarding of aid as well as provide budgets and forecasts as needed to assist with data driven budgetary decisions with institutional aid.
The Director, as part of the office’s management team, is involved in the overall management and direction of the office and provides budget recommendations to facilitate the effective management and strategic utilization of institutional scholarships to promote retention and recruitment. In addition, this position is critical to enrollment management and helps drive the university’s overall recruitment initiatives. This role is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating all scholarship activities for all awarding departments and colleges throughout the institution and is responsible for overseeing the centralized scholarship management system by overseeing training for campus-wide users, maintenance and best practice changes are up to date and review of SB17 and endowment compliance. The role is responsible for ensuring that institutional and donor-funded resources are administered with precision, transparency, and full compliance with donor intent, federal and state regulations, and university policy.
