WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop long-term strategic product and financial planning for a development organization. Provide guidance and coaching to Engineering Managers to support their professional development and their team’s evolution. Set and ensure Objective and Key results are being achieved. Ensure the DevOps practices are adhering to the development process, change management process, and other relevant operational processes. Ensure all teams are delivering committed and best in class work items. More Details are listed below.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME
- Develop long-term strategic product and financial planning for a development organization.
- Provide guidance and coaching to Engineering Managers to support their professional development and their team’s evolution.
- Set and ensure Objective and Key results are being achieved.
- Ensure the DevOps practices are adhering to the development process, change management process, and other relevant operational processes.
- Ensure all teams are delivering committed and best in class work items.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Java, Ruby, PHP, .NET and related technologies to provide technical leadership and guidance.
- Champion DevOps practices and principles, ensuring seamless collaboration between development and operations teams to automate and optimize our software delivery pipeline.
- Create strategy to implement and oversee security testing processes to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in our software products.
- Manage the software engineering budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Partner and collaborate with PMO and Product Management for portfolio management to streamline execution.
- Provide leadership and strategy for the shared services teams in support of the continuous improvement and evolution.
- Responsible for day-to-day leadership responsibilities to include hiring and developing a best-in-class team.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business and technical staff in on-site and virtual environments.
- Develop and lead software engineering best practices initiatives.
- Travel 20% within the US and Overseas to different Ascend office locations.
- Telecommuting is permitted.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Experience must include three (3) years with each of the following:
- Software development leadership.
- Leading Java, Ruby, .NET, and PHP teams with strong team-building skills.
- Managing multiple and large onsite, offsite, and overseas teams including hiring, goal setting, performance evaluation, and career enhancement plans.
- Development methodologies, technologies, and DevOps practices.
- Aligning technical strategy with business objectives and goals.
- Project and resource management, including budget allocation.
- Collaborating and conveying technical concepts.
