How can you make an impact?
As the Director of Strategic Research you will play a pivotal role in shaping McGraw Hill's direction and positioning by supporting enterprise-wide strategic planning and execution tracking of the key priorities. This role will also contribute to M&A initiatives, competitive analyses, and in-depth market research to help inform our strategic choices, identify, measure, and mitigate risks, and craft compelling internal and external narratives.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the annual strategic planning process in partnership with key stakeholders across the organization (ELT, BU level, and corporate functions)
- Facilitate executive-level discussions and BU-specific strategy sessions and workshops to promote the culture of innovation, collaboration, and prioritization of key initiatives
- Perform competitive analyses, market sizing studies, market entry analyses, and buy/build/partner evaluations to drive insights and inform trade-off decisions
- Develop and implement a strategy execution scorecard to track progress against strategic objectives and maintain visibility and dialogue at the ELT level
- Collaborate closely with the Investor Relations team to align perspectives on key areas of interest for earnings calls and investor communications
- Craft compelling narratives and prepare visually engaging presentations to communicate insights and analyses effectively and appropriately for various audiences
- Lead various workstreams (e.g., commercial due diligence) of due diligence for M&A and partnerships
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience
- Demonstrated experience in project or program management, preferably in a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for C-suite and Board-level audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with corporate governance, investor relations, or public company board operations.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build executive-level presentations and analytical models.

The pay range for this position is between $100,000- $185,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
