About the Team
The Operations Division at College Board is focused on leading the organization’s transformation to support delivery of digital assessments. The division aims to provide a strong customer engagement and world-class digital assessment delivery experience that supports millions of students and thousands of schools and test centers annually. The 70-person Assessment Delivery department is a combination of sub-teams that support Test Administration Management, Supply Chain & Logistics, and Publications and Content Management. This role will be the Director of the Test Administration Delivery team.
About the Opportunity
As the Director of Test Administration Delivery, you will apply your operational expertise to support the mission-critical operational function responsible for the flawless delivery of the College Board’s test administration events. You will be accountable for collaborating with cross-functional teams in establishing the behaviors and activities that drive consistent, repeatable delivery of our digital assessments and that result in a standardized experience for our students and testing staff.
You will be a critical agent in the processes with upstream and downstream operational partners (e.g., Technology teams, Customer Care and Advanced Placement (AP) business owners) to drive a test administration model that features laser-focused line of sight into the status of key test-day activities across global time zones. You will partner closely with the Senior Director of Test Administration Delivery to establish clear and streamlined mitigation steps when unanticipated events disrupt the test administration ‘business as usual.’ The Director of Test Administration Delivery will support students and educators through a variety of channels — and ensure swift routing to appropriate teams to either mitigate or resolve barriers that prevent the completion of testing.
In this role, you will:
Manage & Communicate Assessment Delivery & Resolution Initiatives (50%)
- Assess and strategically plan solutions for potential risks and active issues that impact testing
- Partner with Product Owners across the organization to continually evolve the core capabilities of critical functions
- Communicate current operational pain points and vendor independence barriers with critical stakeholders
- Communicate efficiently and accurately through the month-long testing window
Digital Transformation & Optimization (25%)
- Work across Assessment Delivery teams to evaluate systems, platforms, and processes aligned to digital optimization
- Collaborate in ideations sessions within and across teams to drive process improvement
- Perform quality control measures to maintain quality standards and identify opportunities
- Support transformation by collaborating with product owners
- Utilize a data-driven approach and skilled communication tactics to advocate for process or system enhancements to drive down manual workarounds and build strong and automated capabilities
- Establish a new suite of metrics to monitor and control key performance indicators
Strategic Support (25%)
- Establishing collaborative partnership with Advanced Placement program to gain buy-in and foster a culture of transformation
- Internalize and incorporate feedback to drive operational efficiencies
- Build relationships across Assessment Delivery Operations team to identify integration opportunities that enhance test delivery
- Build internal capacity and organizational independence through digital transformation
About You
You have:
- You have at least five years of experience working as an analyst or manager in a professional setting, with experience in a professional services organization on a variety of client projects preferred
- You have strong knowledge of operations management practices (e.g., business process design and improvement, forecasting and capacity planning)
- Excellent communications skills - must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- A proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with a team
- Adept problem-solving skills, including using data to inform decisions and actions
- Experience juggling multiple complex initiatives
- You have strong organizational skills with a predisposition toward action and production of results and outcomes
- You are able to orient to the end user and deeply understand their issues and needs
- The ability to travel 4-6 times a year to customer and/or College Board offices
- Bachelor’s degree is required

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $80,000 to $125,000.
College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary.
