Pay Information  | Range 30 ($5,429.39 – $8,666.54) per month based on the current Classified salary schedule. New employees will begin on Step A ($5,429.39), Step B ($5,700.86) with 18 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience or up to Step C ($5,985.91) with 36 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience. For purposes of salary placement, 7.5 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) of directly related coursework from a regularly accredited institution will be equivalent to one (1) year of job experience. Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment. The Position  | Applications are currently being accepted for District Network Specialist in the District’s Information Technology Department. Generally speaking, hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. However, selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours as directed based on the department’s needs.

Desired Qualifications  | Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Entra, Intune, AD, and M365/O365. Experience with fiber and copper cabling. Maintain, and install routers, switches, local area networks (LAN), and wireless LAN. Ability to monitor systems, provide maintenance, and troubleshoot issues. Familiarity with safety regulations involving computers, IDFs, MDFs, UPS, and electrical equipment. Experience in installation and maintenance for Windows and macOS. Ability to assemble, maintain, and perform minor repairs on computer equipment and peripherals. Superior troubleshooting skills. Creative problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of systems administration automation. Demonstrated competence in the field of computers. Ensure the care and security of assigned equipment, materials, and supplies. Ability to issue, receive, and inventory equipment and supplies. Maintain computer imaging. Provide IT support to assigned campus(es) via a ticketing system. Support for PCs and laptops at assigned campus(es). Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other departments at the campus(es). Ability to relate effectively with people from varied cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Must work efficiently and cooperatively with others; strong interpersonal skills are important. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to train and provide work direction to others. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, or a related field. A minimum of two years relevant hands‑on professional IT work experience in information systems, preferably within a higher education environment. Experience in higher education and/or governmental setting is preferred.

Foreign Degree:  | Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC.(ACEI).
