Job Description | This position encompasses two interrelated functions. First, it reports to the Director of Off-Campus Centers and Academic Programs, handling administrative duties for the South Charleston campus. Second, it serves as a liaison between individual high schools and Marshall University with the main purpose of establishing dual credit and dual enrollment courses for high school students.
Administrative DutiesManaging office communications with internal staff and external partners, including responding to phone inquiries and addressing request or concerns in a professional manner. Developing the master course schedule for South Charleston campus. Assessing course requirements and collaborating with relevant departments to address class concerns or cancellations. Managing pricing and procurement for the South Charleston campus. Handling encumbrances and requisitions. Supporting the director of the South Charleston campus in recruiting adjunct faculty and managing related paperwork. Procure required materials and supplies for the South Charleston Campus. Generating drafts of correspondence and reports for the Director of Off-Campus Programs. Organizing, participating in, and recording minutes for meetings. Identifying and evaluating opportunities to expand degree, micro-credentialing, and professional programs on campus. Facilitating the execution of various projects and initiatives on the South Charleston campus.
Academic Programing
Verifying that high school teachers have the appropriate credentials and qualifications to teach the college-level classes and starting the proper approval process for both the instructor and the course at Marshall University. Informing students about application criteria and collecting applications from qualified high school early-entry applicants. Submitting application materials to the Marshall University Office of Admissions, tracking admissions status, and resolving any pending issues. Partnering with University staff to manage course development and entry. Completing the enrollment of eligible students in sanctioned dual credit courses and tracking their progress and schedule modifications. Communicating key university dates and processes, such as enrollment, withdrawal, and grade entry deadlines. Facilitating student withdrawals when necessary. Facilitating communication between Marshall University departmental faculty and dual credit instructors teaching courses on behalf of the department. Coordinating with appropriate University personnel to establish third-party payment agreements with schools and counties. Supporting the Director in creating additional dual credit programs, initiatives and opportunities. Providing aid to the Director in student recruitment for online courses in assigned dual credit high schools. Helping high school teachers submit course syllabi, midterm grades, and final grades to MUBERT. Supporting the Director by organizing and executing marketings and promotional activities, including outreach efforts, informational tables, and promotions to counties, school districts, and civic organizations. Working with academic departments to assist with their special programs that support high school students and teachers Collaborating with teachers, districts, and schools to manage and complete essential documentation and records. Supporting the coordination with districts and schools to develop new dual credit opportunities. All other duties as assigned
Salary Range | $44,918- $58,939. Salary is commensurate upon education, experience, and internal equity.
