Job Description: | The Early Learning Content Development Specialist will contribute significantly to the development of early childhood related content for the Lastinger Center’s early childhood professional learning product line. The content should be accessible for early childhood educators of all levels and include resources to assist early childhood educators in supporting children toward kindergarten readiness. Resources might include items like scripts for video training or strategy planning sheets. This position will also provide support to the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) Coordinator, assuring continuous accreditation for the Center’s early childhood professional learning products. This position is time-limited, and soft-funded.The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Responsibilities:
Early Childhood Content Development 
  • Develop content for early childhood professional learning resources in partnership with the Early Learning Content and Implementation Manager and Early Learning Principal.
  • Design face-to-face and online learning experiences for early childhood practitioners at all levels, including in classroom teachers and those who support them, such as coaches, facilitators, mentors, and administrators.
  • Author high-quality content that supports current evidence-based research, including the development of scripts for online learning experiences for early childhood practitioners.
  • Consult disaggregated data to guide product development and implementation strategies. 

Content Quality Assurance
  • Author developmentally appropriate, research-based activities.
  • Analyze user feedback and market research to inform content development.Ensure that content adheres to outlined templates.
  • Assist in locating and producing appropriate video resources for online content.Adhere to established schedules and deadlines.
  • Review content and materials for improvements, as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the early learning product manager to meet defined product hypotheses, value propositions, market demand and end user needs.
  • Attend product kickoffs, weekly standups, and retrospectives to inform content development needs and maintain project timeline and budget. 

Accreditation Support and Team Collaboration
  • Provide support to the Center’s Coordinator for the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), maintaining and revising internal processes, documentation and annual report submission/accreditation applications as needed in partnership with the Early Learning Content and Implementation Manager.
  • Troubleshoot challenges and address them as they arise; coordinate with other project staff providing implementation support to ensure consistency and effective communication structures.

 Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary: | $55,000 - $65,000

Required Qualifications: | Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred: | Content expertise in early childhood development and education.Experience in content development and/or instructional design.Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish.Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills, including written communications.
