We are seeking a passionate and highly experienced Early Literacy Specialist to lead strategic engagement efforts with large school districts across the country. This role combines deep expertise in early literacy and the Science of Reading with thought leadership, public speaking, and content creation to drive meaningful impact in early education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • District Consultation: Serve as a trusted advisor to district leaders, providing expert guidance on early literacy strategy, curriculum alignment, and evidence-based practices rooted in the Science of Reading.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the organization at national and regional conferences, webinars, and panels. Deliver engaging presentations and contribute to the broader educational dialogue.
  • Content Development: Author blogs, white papers, and other thought leadership pieces focused on early literacy trends, challenges, and innovations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, customer success, and product teams to ensure alignment between district needs and organizational offerings.
  • Strategic Influence: Help shape the future of early literacy by identifying emerging needs and contributing to product and service development.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate long-term partnerships with district leaders, positioning the organization as a leader in early literacy solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Master’s degree (M.Ed.) required; Doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in early literacy, either in ed-tech sales or as a senior leader within a school district.
  • Deep knowledge of foundational literacy skills, structured literacy, and the Science of Reading.
  • Proven success working with large districts and navigating complex organizational structures.
  • Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong writing ability for professional and public-facing content.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Familiarity with early literacy assessments and instructional tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience presenting at major education conferences (e.g., ILA, NAEYC, AASA).
  • Published work in education journals, blogs, or other media.
  • Experience with ed-tech platforms focused on early literacy or reading intervention.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

Minimum full-time salary range is between $100,000 - $120,000.
