Education Specialist

Foundations, Inc.

Location: Mount Laurel, NJ (Hybrid)

About Foundations
Foundations is a nonprofit organization committed to improving educational opportunities in schools, after school, and in communities. Our Office of Professional Learning (OPL) supports out-of-school time (OST) programs nationwide through professional learning, resources, and technical assistance. We are a collaborative, flexible, and professional team dedicated to helping the educators and programs that serve youth thrive.

The Role
We are seeking an Education Specialist to lead projects from start to finish, managing timelines, partnerships, data, and results with independence. This role is ideal for a former educator who wants to apply classroom and out-of-school time experience to initiatives that strengthen the programs and educators supporting students beyond the school day.

What You Will Do
  • Lead OST projects from planning through completion, managing scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Build and sustain relationships with schools, districts, and community partners.
  • Design and deliver professional development in person and online, engaging audiences from small groups to 300+ participants.
  • Administer learning management systems (LMS) and related tools to support programming.
  • Track and analyze program data to measure impact and guide improvements.

What We Are Looking For
  • At least 2–3 years of classroom teaching or OST experience with a solid grasp of educational practices, systems, and terminology.
  • A proactive, accountable approach with the ability to manage projects independently.
  • Strong writing, facilitation, and communication skills with adult learners and partners.
  • Experience with grant-funded work and a proven track record of meeting compliance and accountability standards.
  • Proficiency with technology, including managing LMS and online learning platforms.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30–40 percent as projects require.

A Week in the Life
No two weeks look the same, but you might spend Monday facilitating a virtual training for OST program leaders, Tuesday analyzing survey data to prepare a report for a grant partner, Wednesday collaborating with colleagues to design new curriculum modules, Thursday meeting with a program leader to plan an upcoming initiative, and Friday updating the LMS to ensure participants have access to new resources. Each week, you will balance working independently with collaborating on team projects, always focused on helping educators and programs strengthen learning opportunities for students.

Why Foundations?
At Foundations, you will join a mission-driven team working to strengthen the educators and programs that expand high-quality learning opportunities for children nationwide. We value collaboration, creativity, and flexibility. You will be supported by colleagues who enjoy working together, celebrate wins, and believe deeply in the power of education to change lives.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $65,000–$80,000
  • Full-time, exempt
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
