Overview

The Education Strategy Director supports, promotes and drives our analytics product verticals in the market and within PowerSchool. They service sales with multiple customers especially strategic and enterprise opportunities in an advisory capacity where complex solutions are required. They provide customer groups guidance and leadership helping them utilize PowerSchool Products to the fullest and in turn provide insight and strategy to help shape future product development by consulting internally with product, sales, marketing and enablement teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and mentor the analytics Team
  • Follow-up with team directly on initiatives/communications sent to All Sales as it applies to the analytics cloud
  • Identify areas for improvement regarding product line knowledge or performance of product line and coach/mentor Field Sales Representatives in those areas
  • Identify opportunities for VP of Govt Relations & Education Strategy and Executive Team involvement
  • Understand deals, team with the Sales Representatives on successful deal strategy, and drive Sales Representatives to successful discovery, objection-handling, deal timeline management, etc.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales and Director of Sales for Analytics and the individual Sales Representative on how to identify best opportunities to be competitive – competitive pricing, strategic products, references, lobbyists, etc.
  • Travel with Sales Representatives as requested, and personally visit and be involved with key customers and key deals for the product line and step in to personally lead key/large opportunities when necessary
  • Work with Education Strategy leaders to Identify areas of needed training/improvement and engage sales enablement, etc.
  • Research education initiatives in order to align product specific strategies, consistently monitor the market for information that will assist PowerSchool  in growing revenue
  • Lead funding and other grant initiatives as it relates to the product line
  • Assist with pipeline generation activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.  Master's and/or Doctorate degree in Education or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in K-12 Education that includes extensive practical experience within the target market as a district leader
  • Experience implementing district-wide data and analytics initiatives using technology
  • Experience leading technical teams within K-12 and providing leadership in all aspects of instructional technology and technology infrastructure
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and database structures and concepts
  • Knowledge of practices and systems to ensure the privacy and security of organizational data
  • Experience leading initiatives, collaborating across departments and functional areas that support adoption and implementation of technology in all aspects of district functions and operations
  • Enthusiasm and excitement for K-12 education ongoing professional learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking ability and experience
  • Ability to put associated products in context with the future of the market and the broader vision of a more unified district experience
  • Must be able to work very well with others, this role requires a significant amount of collaboration with others across various organization departments
  • Must be able to be independent and proactive within the direction of the Sales Team objectives 
  • Must be able to thrive and adapt in an environment that is sometimes ambiguous or difficult to define as we cross multiple division and product/services boundaries in the solutions that are taken to market

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $120,000 – $130,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
