What does this role do at AHIMA?
The eLearning Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing eLearning courses and supplemental materials for HCPro, LLC customers. The eLearning Developer will engage and collaborate with various sponsors including Editorial staff, Learning & Development colleagues, and customers. This role will leverage adult learning theories, instructional design principles and user experience best practices for continuous improvement of HCPro's learning assets.
What are some of the responsibilities?
- Assist eLearning Production Manager in the management of department policies and guidelines for Editors up to date
- Maintain existing courses as applicable; incorporate user experience enhancements, apply instructional design best practices and apply updates as applicable to art, graphics, audio files, learning treatments and subject matter to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Provide input for supplemental material templates and overarching designs; ensure accuracy relative to subject matter and adherence to standards through peer reviews, ensure brand standards are maintained and not diluted.
- Design and develop new library and custom courses; assist at all phases throughout the design and development lifecycle in both independent and team-based approaches, leverage technology and curated content, and ensure quality and accuracy throughout.
- Liaise between external freelancer and Learning & Development; ensure synergies between teams relative to HCPro standards and expectations, identify and manage workflows and controls, and manage communication.
- Update and maintain department records as needed, such as but not limited to control and edit logs, quality control checklists and guidelines, and various data points.
- Organize and maintain production team course folders, templates, stock assets, and assorted resources as required.
What are the knowledge and skills requirements?
- Bachelor's Degree (Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Education, or similar)
- Experience with eLearning course-building tools, including but not limited to Articulate (preferred), Adobe Captivate, or similar
- Knowledge and practical application of adult learning principals to products to facilitate learning and enhance user experience
- Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint, or similar.
- Familiarity with MS Office, JIRA, Google Docs, Adobe, and/or project management tools to support overall product development
- Strong knowledge of learning delivery platforms such as LMS, LCRS, microlearning, V-ILT tools.
- Graphic Design experience preferred
- Familiar with instructional design theories and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple projects in fast paced environment.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organization with ability to work effectively in a diverse and geographically dispersed work environment
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to efficiently acquire new skills based on emerging technologies
- Technically proficient and possess creative and intuitive problem-solving ability
