Job Summary
The Clinical and Translational Science Institute is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) to support the OnCore Clinical Trials Management System throughout the University campus. The OnCore Training and Education Specialist is responsible for the development, planning, documentation, and delivery of training for OnCore and CRSO initiatives. The role will also provide OnCore application support and communication of CRSO activities to the University research community.

Clinical research experience is highly recommended and familiarity with OnCore or other CTMS is preferred. Work with department leadership to assess training needs, select appropriate training programs and delivery methods, and monitor training programs to ensure they are current and effective. May schedule classes, set up systems and equipment, and coordinate enrollment. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.

Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
This is a Developing-Level position in the General Professional track.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for OnCore and related systems (eReg, Participant Payments, and Epic), providing technical support, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization for end-users
  • Design, deliver and evaluatecomprehensive training programs, including digital and in-person instructional materials, to ensure user proficiency and adoption. 
  • Partners with department leadership to assess evolving training needs and designs strategic educational programs for system enhancements, ensuring all delivery methods remain current, effective, and aligned with process changes.
  • Participates in system testing activities, including evaluation of upgrades and new functionality; provides feedback to vendors and stakeholders
  • Develops and analyzes metrics and reports to support system utilization, adoption, and organizational decision-making
  • Collaborates with internal teams and stakeholders to communicate system updates, support initiatives, and contribute to development of standard operating procedures and audit activities

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Employee Training & Development Specialist, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience with training and education in clinical research
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in health care setting with clinical research experience preferred
  • Ability to use creative and effective presentation skills to teach individuals or groups of 4-80 adults 
  • Knowledgeable about Clinical Trials Management Systems, specifically Oncore
  • Familiarity with Federal regulations regarding human subject research 
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, knowledge of website support a plus 
  • Software training experience preferred but not required
