Enrollment Counselor Full Description

Overview: 
The Enrollment Counselor serves as a member of the Admissions team, focusing on supporting prospective students from acceptance through matriculation. The individual will be responsible for managing a student caseload which includes handling incoming contacts, conducting outreach, reading applications, and meeting with students on campus. Evening and weekend work is required. Person may be required to use personal vehicle for visitations with mileage reimbursement at the current College rate. Occasional nighttime driving required.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree. Required

  • Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required

  • Experience in college admissions preferred, or related professional experience in marketing/sales, customer service, human services or education. Required

Responsibilities: 
  • Provide complete support and follow-up to prospective students and their supporters via multiple modes of communication throughout the enrollment process.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to manage and drive applicants through the admissions funnel and support enrollment objectives within assigned academic areas.
  • Collaborate with offices campus-wide to provide information that students need to convert from accepted to enrolled.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with academic school leadership, staff, and faculty within assigned academic areas.
  • Assist prospective transfer students in understanding the College’s external transcript evaluation process and conduct unofficial transcript evaluations.
  • Monitor, understand, and analyze data and reports to track progress towards meeting enrollment goals.
  • Plan and coordinate yield activities. Evaluate the effectiveness of the various approaches taken and make recommendations for adjustments where appropriate.
  • Review applications, transcripts, and supporting materials and render admission decisions.
  • Assess applications for inactivity and suggest cancellations as appropriate.
  • Participate in all aspects of the College’s on-campus recruitment program, including but not limited to general campus tours, open houses, accepted student days, group tours, and special events.
  • Coordinate and conduct personal tours for prospective students and parents/supporters.
  • Deliver presentations to groups of prospective students and their supporters on campus.
  • Conduct campus and housing tours as needed.
  • Assist with the development and preparation of Admissions events.
  • Actively support the College’s marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in the Admissions Office social media activity.
  • As needed, participate in virtual recruitment activities including but not limited to: information sessions, online chats, webinars, and college fairs.
  • As needed, participate in off-campus recruitment, which may include overnight and both in-state and out-of-state travel.
  • Effectively use the office’s constituent relationship management system (CRM), Slate, including ensuring data integrity and timeliness of data entry.
  • Provide telephone, chat, and personnel coverage as needed during in-office work hours.
  • Maintain working knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the College’s matriculation process beyond Admissions, including financial aid, placement testing, new student advising, course scheduling, bill paying, orientation, residence life, move-in, etc.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of majors within assigned academic school or division, including special admissions requirements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Admissions policies and procedures and recommend to the supervisor revisions as appropriate.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all guidelines related to confidentiality of student information and records (FERPA).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the development, implementation, and assessment of special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Some lifting required not exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Some night driving.
 
Physical Standards and Special Job Features: Pay Transparency: Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $52,000 - $61,000.
