Administrative Operations mission is to provide stewardship of multi-use facilities, administration of conferences, events and activities, business services and solutions while implementing a safe environment benefiting the education of students, recruitment of faculty, staff and students and continued enrollment efforts.

The Event Operations Coordinator works in Administrative Operations under the general direction of the Associate Director of Event Production.
Position Overview
This position manages and maintains the equipment inventory and rental system for events needing limited support.

Duties may include:
  • Develop and maintain an inventory management system
  • Coordinate with the other unit managers to accommodate their equipment needs
  • Supervise and direct others in setting-up, supporting, and taking-down public events, athletic events, theatrical productions or civic activities sponsored by the University of Idaho and the public at large
  • Hire, train and supervise student staff members
  • Provide high quality, customer service-oriented experience for event clients and participants
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience
Work experience that includes all of the following:

  • Following established financial procedures
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization

Experience in:
  • Hiring, scheduling, coordinating, supervising and evaluating others
  • Planning and conducting public events; (i.e.: canopies, tables, chairs, sound and lighting)
  • Operating and maintaining multi-channel audio systems, lighting systems and/or video equipment
  • Performing up and down rigging
  • Operating a forklift, scissor lift and/or aerial lift
  • Working with computer programs such as R25, CAD and/or FAMIS
  • Working knowledge of inventory control computer applications
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop and work in high places
  • Ability to move in and around confined spaces
  • Ability to work in dusty and enclosed areas such as basements, attics and plenums
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
