Job Summary | The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the President of the College and works closely with the Chief of Staff in a fast-paced environment.
The Executive Assistant balances multiple priorities with minimal supervision and is responsible for scheduling and calendar management for the President, including gathering documents and attending to logistics of meetings; making travel arrangements, including creating itineraries and processing expense reports; making frequent adjustments to travel and other plans efficiently and with attention to detail; assisting with budget planning/management; maintaining paper and electronic records for the Office; managing and assisting with administrative projects; screening and prioritizing incoming information; and routinely performing a wide variety of executive support duties. The Executive Assistant has regular contact with the senior officers of the College and with their support staff. The Executive Assistant will also serve as a backup to the other Executive Assistant in the Office supporting the Senior Vice President/Secretary of the College.
This position is a member of the President’s Office team and interacts with all members of the Bowdoin College community (staff, faculty, students, trustees, alumni, and parents) as well as members of the public. In all situations, the Executive Assistant acts with the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and composure, while understanding and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
The targeted hiring range for this position is: $79,000 – $83,000.

Preferred:Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents | Required: A minimum of 4-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role. Proven experience as an executive assistant or similar role supporting senior executives, preferably at the C-suite level. Must have considerable proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook, and various virtual meeting platforms.
Preferred:Experience working in an academic setting is strongly preferred.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire. Standard Work Days and Hours | Hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is an exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Additional hours, including occasional evenings and weekends are required. This is a full-time position working 40 hours/52 weeks, (1.00 FTE).
This is an on-site role, and candidates must be able to work in person on Bowdoin College Campus in Brunswick, Maine.
