Montana State University is hiring an Executive Director for QCORE. The position leads a university-wide research institute focused on advancing quantum science, engineering, and business by building strategic partnerships, securing funding, and overseeing operations to promote research, innovation, and workforce development.

Lead and position QCORE as a nationally recognized quantum technology research center and workforce development leader.
Develop and implement strategies for sustainability, governance, and responsiveness to stakeholders.
Build long-term relationships with federal agencies, donors, funders, congressional representatives, and corporate partners.
Secure diverse funding sources including federal grants, private donations, and industrial partnerships.
Support faculty and scientists in obtaining external funding and promote innovation in quantum science and technology.
Require PhD in Physics, Engineering, or related field or terminal degree with industry experience.
Demonstrated experience in research leadership, federal grant-seeking, fundraising, or business development required.
Preferred qualifications include scientific/business innovation, technology transfer experience, and familiarity with land-grant university missions.
Position requires extensive travel, compliance with export control laws, possible DoD security clearance, and mentoring staff.
Salary commensurate with experience; position contingent on continued grant funding.
