NC State University is hiring an Extension Specialist - Quality & Management Systems. This role requires delivering technical assistance, training, and program leadership focused on quality and management systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. The specialist independently leads client engagements, facilitates courses, supports service development, and manages program operations to support manufacturers and organizations across North Carolina.
Highlights
Provide hands-on technical assistance, coaching, and facilitation for organizations implementing or improving quality and management systems.
Lead system implementation, internal auditing, corrective action, and sustainment activities.
Facilitate face-to-face and virtual training courses, workshops, and client meetings using adult learning principles.
Support program development, continuous improvement, and alignment of quality-focused services with industry trends.
Engage in business development by promoting IES services and networking with clients and partners.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree, strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO 9001, client engagement leadership, facilitation, project management, and quality management systems expertise.
Preferred qualifications include experience with IATF 16949, automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA), and familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or AS9100 standards.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a North Carolina driver's license within 60 days of hire; ongoing maintenance of NC license required.
Anticipated hiring salary range is $72,000 to $80,000 with a full-time, 12-month recurring appointment in the IES Engineering & Technology department.
