Fellow, Strategy Leadership Program 
College Board – Global Strategy & Talent 
Location: This is a fully remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office). 
Type: This is a full-time term position that will last for 2 years from the start date. 
 
About the Team 
The Strategy Team is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision and direction of the College Board. We work closely with the executive leadership team, business units, and external partners to identify opportunities and incubate solutions that improve educational opportunities and outcomes, particularly for low-income, first-generation, and students of color, in the context of a competitive business environment.    Our team has incubated high-impact initiatives such as the BigFuture Scholarships Program, which guides students through the complicated process of applying to college, as well as Career Kickstart, an expansion of Advanced Placement that gives all students the opportunity to earn a tri-credit (high school credit, college credit, and industry-recognized credentials) for in-demand careers.  
 
About the Opportunity 
The College Board Strategy Leadership Program is a two-year program designed to cultivate the next generation of strategists and leaders at College Board by equipping early-career professionals with the skills, experiences, and mentorship to solve complex problems and drive equity-centered change in education. 
 
The Strategy Leadership Program is designed for professionals with 2-4 years of post-college professional experience with a keen interest in growing skill in all aspects of problem-solving. Fellows may grow into high-impact strategic roles at College Board within the 2 years. Strategy alum have gone onto leadership roles internally with Office of CEO, Advanced Placement, and the SAT Teams, externally to mission-driven organizations, like Guild Education and the Gates Foundation, or have pursued advanced degrees in business and other fields. As Fellows, you will be prepared for careers in strategy, consulting, research, project management, special projects, and more. 
 
As a Fellow, you will work closely with Strategy team members and cross-divisional leaders to support high-impact projects. In this role, you will:  
  • Support Strategy and cross-divisional leaders on major organizational problems and priorities by working through all stages of the problem-solving process: defining problems and project scopes, formulating and testing hypotheses, conducting market research, presenting results to senior management and implementing recommendations across the organization
  • Help drive, manage, and/or operate cross-divisional projects and initiatives beyond the recommendation stage 
  • Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and development 
 
The Strategy Team prioritizes coaching and development – you’ll receive significant opportunities for challenge and growth. Your experience includes:  
  • Formal training with session-based practice going through all phases of problem-solving process, relationship skill development, AI fluency, and more 
  • Practical skill development - You’ll serve as an analyst, operator, and/or project manager to support strategy projects and develop evidence-based recommendations to leadership  
  • Coaching and mentorship - You’ll be coached by team members who have worked for a variety of organizations, including McKinsey, New York University, JP Morgan, Teach For America, Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship, ETS, and Obama For America.  
  • Exposure to senior leadership and networking with staff –  You’ll have opportunities to learn about different parts of the education sector and work with a range of experts in the organization, including researchers, program leaders, data scientists, and more 
 
Strategy Fellows are full-time paid employees and are eligible for College Board benefits, including health insurance, retirement contributions, and tuition assistance. The position is remote and reports to the Director of Strategy, who resides in New York City.  
 
About You 
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience post-college  
  • Outstanding academic performance and demonstrated skill in written communication  
  • Substantial accomplishments in early professional career and/or in college (e.g. you are someone who proactively solves problems at hand to achieve meaningful outcomes)  
  • Emerging problem-solving skills and interest in problem-solving and strategy, but not necessary to have formal training and development in consulting- or research-style problem-solving
  • Keen interest in addressing systems-level problems and opportunities  
  • Strong commitment to excellence and personal and professional growth  
  • Resourceful, intellectually curious, and comfortable with ambiguity 
  • Highly effective at building relationships, especially across lines of difference 
  • Substantial experience building relationships in low-income communities

About Our Process
