Job Description

As the Associate, Field Marketing at Galileo, you will play a crucial supporting role in activating our brand across local communities and markets. You will work closely with the Senior Field Marketing Manager and cross-functional partners to coordinate, execute, and track hyper-local marketing programs that drive brand awareness, acquisition, and retention.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role perfect for an emerging marketer eager to learn all aspects of field marketing—from strategy development to event execution and logistics—in an innovative, mission-driven environment.

You Will Be Accountable For

Customer & Market Insights

  • Gather market and community insights to develop strategic go-to-market plans for our five regions: Southern California, Northern California, Seattle, Colorado, and Chicago.

  • Support the collection and synthesis of customer feedback from surveys, events, and direct interactions.

  • Share key learnings with internal stakeholders to inform strategy, messaging, and content.

  • Field Marketing Execution

  • Partner with Field Operations teams to implement campaigns and site-level marketing plans.

  • Support the coordination, logistics, and on-the-ground execution of local marketing initiatives.

Communications & Materials 

  • Organize, distribute, and track marketing collateral for field teams and community partners, including schools and local publications.

  • Contribute to content creation by gathering stories, photos, and feedback during camp visits and local events.

Event Coordination

  • Research, vet, and assist with the administrative planning of in-person events and partnership opportunities.

  • Liaise with vendors and community organizations to ensure smooth activations and timely delivery of assets.

  • Support event setup, execution, and breakdown as needed (occasional evenings or weekends required).

Performance Tracking & Budget Support

  • Assist with data collection and reporting on campaign and event results, customer insights, and participation metrics.

  • Help track budgets, process invoices, and manage field marketing expenses.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Proactively identify process improvements and share ideas with the Senior Field Marketing Manager.

  • Adapt to shifting priorities and support special projects as needed.

During the summer season you will

  • Observe the camp guest experience, especially front-of-house interactions, to identify best practices.

  • Test and implement methods to boost survey participation (e.g., hosting coffee chats during check-in).

  • Support photo and video content capture during media shoots (travel required).

  • Lead coordination and community engagement on Galileo’s social channels.

Compensation

We anticipate total compensation for this Full-Time, position to be $60,000-$80,000. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience. 

Our pay practices are guided by a commitment to equity and informed by market benchmarking and internal audits to minimize bias and ensure fairness across all roles.

Work Location

Employees located in the San Francisco Bay area adhere to a hybrid office and work-from-home policy. Galileo Headquarters is located at 111 Myrtle St, Ste 300, Oakland, CA 94607. 

Schedule & Time Commitment
This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. While we prioritize work-life balance, there may be times when additional hours are necessary to meet deadlines and ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, this position will travel for events, team and all company meetings, and to visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp first-hand and support our teams on the ground; up to 30% travel may be required.

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years’ experience in marketing, event management or a related field.

  • Strong organizational, administrative and communication skills.

  • Experience with spreadsheets and basic reporting. 

  • Comfort with social media platforms and willingness to learn new software and marketing platforms.

  • Ability to problem-solve independently while seeking support when needed.

  • Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours for event support.

  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, mission-driven, camp-inspired culture.

Additional Information

During your onboarding process, you may need to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) screening, a background check, and mandated reporter training (California only). More details will be provided during your onboarding process.
