Job Duties:
Serve as the primary point of contact for students and families seeking information about financial aid options, application procedures, and eligibility.Provide personalized assistance with FAFSA completion, FSA ID creation, and understanding award offers.Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, text, and ticketing systems (e.g., Blackboard, Modern Campus, Outlook, etc).Meet with students one-on-one to discuss aid status, unmet need, budget, satisfactory academic progress (SAP), Return to Title IV (R2T4), over awards, and other financial aid matters.Explain basic concepts of federal, state, and institutional aid programs such as Pell Grant, CAP Grant, KEES, Federal Direct Loans, and Work Ready Kentucky.Collect, review, and process financial aid documentation including verification materials and other eligibility related documents.Review and resolve NSLDS/Clearinghouse reporting issues.Ensure all student information is handled confidentially and in compliance with FERPA and federal audit standards.Participate in college and community outreach activities, including high school workshops and financial aid nights, to educate students and parents about financial aid access and affordability.Assist with creation, management, & execution of departmental communication plan.Support financial literacy initiatives and presentations as needed.Other Duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience. 4-6 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of government, donor and/or institutional rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures for awarding of financial aid. Demonstrated knowledge of how the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) calculation works and how the EFC impacts awarding of Title IV funds. Knowledge of federal Title IV financial aid programs, awarding eligibility requirements and supporting regulations. Experience with Federal Systems such as COD (Common Origination and Disbursement), CPS (Central Processing System) and NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System). Experience in automated processing. Experience in using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience in using Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of customer service demonstrated through actively listening, acknowledging, and responding to every inquiry; taking ownership and resolving each concern or problem as appropriate. Evidence of stimulating changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment. Experience in leading by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution's sustainability programs.
