Department Summary
The Financial Aid Office, within the Division of Enrollment Management, manages grants, loans and scholarships for undergraduate, graduate and professional students across six schools on the UNT Health campus. Our goal is to provide students with financial assistance and advice to assist them in managing the costs associated with their educational pursuits.

Position Overview
The Financial Aid Office is looking for a new team member who will evaluate and analyze financial information submitted by applicants to determine eligibility for financial assistance and determines type and amount of aid to be awarded in accordance with established federal and university standards and guidelines. They will also assist with student awarding. This staff member will interact with students and parents to assist with providing courteous, accurate and timely information to requests or inquiries made via email, phone and/or mail. Must be able to professionally convey information to students regarding completion of FAFSA, loan entrance and exit counseling, program eligibility, benefits and drawbacks associated with various financial aid programs, and new or updated regulations pertaining to student financial assistance. Candidate must be able to access all federal and state financial aid websites (NSLDS, COD, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with federal and state regulations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree and two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Advanced working knowledge of both graduate and undergraduate state and financial aid programs.

Job Duties
Counsel students on different types of loans and awards available.Review and comply with all state and federal regulations.Must be able to professionally convey information to students and parents regarding completion of FAFSA, loan entrance and exit counseling, program eligibility, benefits and drawbacks associated with various financial aid programs, and new or updated regulations pertaining to student financial assistance.Present financial aid sessions to students, staff and community groups as requested.Take phone calls, answer emails and monitor chat form current and prospective students and/ or parents to ensure general Financial Aid questions are answered in a timely manner.Administers assigned financial aid programs.Complete special requests or other duties as assigned.
