Description of Work 
The Financial Aid Data Coordinator is an important member of the financial aid operations team, responsible for gathering and organizing scholarship and financial aid data to support the office and campus partners. Key responsibilities include extracting and reviewing data from the student information system, developing or maintaining reports for internal and campus use, such as college scholarship reports, summer awarding reports, and ad-hoc data requests. The coordinator will assist with reporting for the Common Data Set, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), and Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment reporting.

This role also supports the testing and implementation of new or updated functions within the Oracle/PeopleSoft student information system, providing feedback to the Senior Associate Director. Additional responsibilities include supporting other data coordination needs as assigned to ensure the successful operation of the financial aid office.

This coordinator will receive training in basic query writing and reporting tools (such as WebFocus, Oracle/PeopleSoft Query, and similar systems) to extract and organize information. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this position works closely with a variety of stakeholders within and outside the office as part of a supportive, service-oriented operations team.

Minimum Required Qualifications 
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years with financial aid data, related higher education administration, or relational database system experience required. Attention to detail. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively multi-task in completing work assignments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills essential. Proficiency with computer software in word processing, spreadsheets, and relational database.

Preferred Qualifications 
Experience in a college or university financial aid office or comparable setting preferred. Demonstrated query/report writing experience preferred. Oracle/PeopleSoft or Webfocus experience preferred. Ability to learn complex database design for reporting against and testing of the student information system. Ability to problem solve, with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and efficient reporting of data.
