| Job Summary | The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine is seeking a motivated and professional Grants and Contracts Officer to facilitate the grant process post-award for the department. In this role, your main focus will be on post-award grant coordination. You will have some responsibilities related to pre-award grant coordination at times. You willresearch, prepare, finalize, submit, and follow-up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants. Research and draft proposals, develop budgets, and manage the submission process ensuring deadlines are met. Maintain records, and communicate with funders. Establish relationships with foundations and private contributors. | Responsibilities | Post-Award Grants & Contract Officer (GCO) Facilitate the grant process post-award for the university. Coordinate cross-departmentally to research, prepare, finalize, submit, and follow-up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants. Research and draft proposals, develop budgets, and manage the submission process ensuring deadlines are met. Maintain records, and communicate with funders. Establish relationships with foundations and private contributors. Provides expertise regarding post-award research administration, which may include ensuring that proposed projects meet goals of dept. & that necessary resources are available. Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience. Essential Functions

| Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); plus two years of related experience. Also required are a thorough knowledge of established accounting principles and practices; spreadsheet and database skills; knowledge of statistics and demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relation and effective communication skills required. An advanced degree, such as a Master’s of Business Administration, is preferred. Certain positions may require familiarity with hospital billing systems, Medicare and insurance reimbursement regulations, etc. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
