Financial Analyst - DOTS Full Description

Job Description Summary

The Financial Analyst provides critical financial and analytical support to the University's Department of Transportation Services. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Business and Financial Services, this position is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, managing multi-year budgets and forecasts, and identifying strategies for financial sustainability. The analyst will work across functional areas including parking, transit, fleet, and emerging mobility services to ensure operational decisions are supported by sound financial analysis and aligned with university policies.

Physical Demands: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. 

Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Experience in higher education, or transportation/logistics operations.
Familiarity with Workday systems.

Knowledge of auxiliary services budgeting or grant-funded projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three (3) years of professional budget, finance, or accounting experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control practices. Knowledge of budget functions including preparation, balancing, and internal control.Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
