The Kentucky Fire Commission is seeking to fill two Financial Specialist IV positions. The Financial Specialist IV positions provide support to the Manager IV-Financial Operations in administering processes for procurement card transactions, travel reimbursement and accounts receivable along with administering two crucial programs in support of firefighters across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Job Duties:
Review procurement card transactions for accuracy and compliance with KCTCS purchasing guidelines. Track edits and ensure proper documentation within the KCTCS Peoplesoft financials program.
Administer the stress injury program for active and retired firefighters. Communicate with firefighters across the state, reviewing applications and accompanying documentation for eligibility and processing reimbursements.
Administer a program to reimburse firefighters for expenses associated with screening for cancer for eligible full-time, volunteer, and retired firefighters. Communicate with firefighters across the state, review applications and accompanying documentation for eligibility and processing reimbursements.
Assist the Manager IV-Financial Operations with the final review and audit of employee expense reimbursement documents in accordance with the KCTCS Business Services Travel Procedures using PeopleSoft.
Audit travel and expense documents for reimbursement submitted by members of the Kentucky Fire Commission governing board in accordance with the KCTCS Business Services Travel Procedures. Follow through with appropriate submission of these documents to KCTCS accounts payable.
Accounts Receivable-Utilize the KCTCS credit card banking software to process payments for open invoices.
Serve as backup to other positions in the Financial Operations area and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Associate’s degree or equivalent 5 years’ experience
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3 years’ experience
Additional Skills Requested:
Must have demonstrated experience working with financial data, excellent communication, analytical and record keeping skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
