The Firmwide Technology Trainer plays a critical role in advancing technology adoption, user productivity, and continuous learning across the Firm. This position is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating technology training programs for attorneys, paralegals, administrative professionals, and business services staff.
Working closely with Information Technology, Human Resources, and departmental leadership, the Firmwide Technology Trainer develops engaging learning experiences that support onboarding, professional development, technology implementations, and firm change initiatives. The role combines instructional design, classroom facilitation, learning management system administration, content development, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure employees have the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a proactive learning professional who excels at translating complex technology concepts into practical, user-friendly training solutions and enjoys working in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Training Design and Delivery
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced technology training programs for Firm personnel.
- Facilitate New Hire Technology Orientation and onboarding programs for attorneys, legal support professionals, and business services staff.
- Create structured learning paths that support employee onboarding, skill development, and technology proficiency.
- Deliver individual, small-group, and large-scale training sessions tailored to varying experience levels and business needs.
- Assess training needs and identify skill gaps through stakeholder consultation, user feedback, and performance trends.
- Adapt instructional methods and content to meet evolving business requirements and learning preferences.
Instructional Design and Content Development
- Develop and maintain training materials, including user guides, quick-reference materials, job aids, FAQs, videos, eLearning modules, and other learning resources.
- Create training content that supports core Firm technologies, business applications, and productivity tools.
- Ensure training materials are accurate, current, accessible, and aligned with Firm standards and branding.
- Maintain centralized repositories of training content and knowledge resources.
Learning Management System Administration
- Administer the Firm's Learning Management System (LMS), including user management, course assignments, learning paths, and reporting.
- Monitor participation, completion rates, and learner engagement metrics.
- Analyze training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data, feedback, and business outcomes.
- Coordinate and manage third-party training content and vendor-provided learning resources.
Technology Adoption and Change Management
- Support technology implementations, upgrades, and strategic initiatives through training, documentation, communications, and user readiness activities.
- Partner with IT teams and business stakeholders to develop training strategies that support successful technology adoption.
- Assist with pilot testing, user acceptance activities, and readiness assessments related to new systems and applications.
- Serve as a trusted resource for end users during periods of firm and technological change.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Build strong working relationships with attorneys, business professionals, and Firm leadership to identify learning needs and opportunities.
- Collaborate with Information Technology teams to ensure training materials accurately reflect Firm policies, procedures, and technology standards.
- Stay current on adult learning principles, instructional technologies, legal industry trends, and emerging learning solutions like Digital Adoption Platforms.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Communications, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) or more years of experience designing and delivering technology, software, or professional skills training.
- Experience developing instructional materials and learning content for adult learners.
- Experience facilitating both in-person and virtual training programs.
- Experience administering or supporting a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a law firm, professional services organization, or other client-service-focused environment.
- Experience supporting technology implementations, software rollouts, and change management initiatives.
- Experience with eLearning development tools and digital learning platforms.
- Familiarity with document management systems, collaboration platforms, and legal technology applications.
- Professional certifications in training, instructional design, learning and development, or change management.

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $80,000 – $110,000 for CT, $95,000 – $130,000 per year for NY/DC, and $100,000 – $150,000 for SF (with the upper end of the range reserved for highly qualified applicants). This position is currently available in our NY/DC/CT/SF office locations only.
